Portland hosted the annual Rose City Classic Dog Show, one of the biggest dog shows in the country, over the weekend. Over 180 breeds and nearly 3,000 very good dogs competed over five days in competitions ranging from breed judging, agility and obedience.
For the coveted Best in Show titles, dogs competed in categories like nonsporting, toy and herding. One dog who won first prize in its category was Lilith, a dalmatian, and her handler Meg Callea, who’s been working with the breed for the past 50 years.
“I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing,” Callea said in between kisses from Lilith. “But I think it’s a good thing.”
