Gov. Kate Brown has given the Oregon Health Authority until the end of August to figure out the Medicaid eligibility of 115,000 Oregonians.
In a statement Tuesday, Brown said the health authority has fallen behind processing those people.

OHA spokesman Robb Cowie said the people who still need to be processed are pregnant women, people who turned up at the ER and were presumed to be Medicaid eligible, and families with children and complex medical issues.
“We’re about 90 percent of the way through working on the cleanup of data following the CoverOregon failure," Cowie said. "We have this remaining group to complete and we will finish by Aug. 31.”
Oregon Secretary of State Dennis Richardson sounded the alarm last week, saying the state may be sending as much as $37 million a month to ineligible recipients.
But that figure assumed that all 115,000 Medicaid recipients were ineligible.
The health authority's review has thus far found about 72 percent of Oregon Medicaid recipients are eligible.
