In the battle for control of the U.S. House, Washington state is now one of the big hotspots.

On this episode of “OPB Politics Now,” OPB senior political reporter Jeff Mapes, Vancouver correspondent Molly Solomon and Olympia correspondent Austin Jenkins talk about the stunning results of the Washington primary. 

The state’s “top two” non-partisan primary showed that Republican congressional incumbents — including Clark County’s Jaime Herrera Beutler — now face competitive races from Democratic challengers. And Democrats also did surprisingly well in a number of Republican-held legislative districts.
