Want to know what the nation's top city is for EVs? It's on the West Coast. And, according to a ranking by the world's biggest network of EV chargers, That city has lots of company, with five of the top 10 cities in the U.S. near the Pacific Ocean.

ChargePoint put out the ranking. It looks like this:

(1) San Francisco Bay Area

(2) Seattle

(3) San Diego

(4) Austin

(5) Honolulu

(6) Los Angeles

(7) Portland

(8) Detroit

(9) Washington, DC

(10) Boston

ChargePoint says it scored the cities by tallying up the number of EVs owned as well as the number of public charging stations available on its network. The company then weighted those figures based on metro-area population. That explains why Los Angeles, with more than 17,000 EV drivers, ranked below its smaller northern neighbor, San Francisco, which has just under 15,000 electric vehicles.
