Bernie Sanders Wins Oregon Presidential Primary

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, a senator from Vermont, drew thousands to Portland’s Moda Center on Friday, March 25, 2016.

Sanders campaigned hard in Oregon, including appearances in front of large crowds in Portland, Eugene and just over the state line in Vancouver. This weekend, he made a series of calls to media outlets urging his supporters — he termed them “non-traditional voters” in an interview with OPB — to return their ballots.

High turnout boosted Sanders’ campaign, just as it helped Barack Obama beat Clinton in the 2008 Oregon Democratic primary.
