She never counted, but Dr. Carol Howe estimates she's delivered over 1,000 babies in her four decade career as a nurse midwife. Howe has also been a pioneer in the field of midwifery education. She served as director of the nurse-midwifery education program at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), a program she helped to get off the ground in the 1970s. Howe officially retired July 1. We'll ask her about some of the most memorable moments in her career as both a nurse-midwife and an educator.

GUEST:

  • Carol Howe: Former director of the nurse-midwifery education program and associate dean for practice at OHSU's school of nursing
