• On Tuesday, the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis released the last revenue forecast (pdf) before state lawmakers finalize their budget plans. State Economist Mark McMullen tells us about it.

• Roseburg-based reporter April Ehrlich with the News-Review newspaper shares the story of a homeless family that's been living living in a motel for months and tell us about how some motels have banned residents from renting rooms. We also talk to the executive director of the United Community Action Network, Michael Fieldman, about the scarcity of affordable housing for his clients.

• Portland author Lidia Yuknavitch's newest novel, "The Book of Joan," reimagines the character of Joan of Arc in a post-apocalyptic world where the earth has been consumed by war and the remaining humans have become sexless, genderless creatures whose main form of self expression is scarring their own skin.
