Mary J. Blige feat. Anderson .Paak — “Here with Me”

THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

On her 15th studio album, Mary J. Blige continues to hold down the title of the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. The new record, “Good Morning Gorgeous,” includes an impressive mix of collaborators like Anderson .Paak, who features heavily on the song “Here with Me.” The drummer, producer and arranger takes a turn on lead vocals while Blige’s soul-soaked voice is sprinkled throughout.

Hard Yes — “Get a Grip”

Portland band Hard Yes may be a relative newcomer, but the group already has a wonderfully polished sound. The outfit, fronted by brothers Jack and Charlie Peacock, recently released a new single called “Get a Grip.” It’s a spirited indie rock jam rippled by airy guitar, infectious rhythm and classic emo-sly vocals.

Danielle Ponder — “So Long”

Danielle Ponder is a former public defender (you read that right) and rising soul-singer. Her latest single, “So Long,” showcases an amazing balance of funky swagger and classic R&B spiritual exaltation that glorifies a message of strength and independence. “I’m not striving to be a popstar, I’m striving to tell my story in the way that only I can,” says Ponder.
