THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR:

When she was growing up, Ariana Chavarria says she didn't see herself represented in the books she was reading. Now, she's trying not to repeat that experience for her son. One of his favorite books is "Mixed Like Me," but many of the books he brings home have only white characters.

Chavarria is on the board of the Children's Book Bank, and she's one of the people behind the campaign called A Story Like Mine. The goal is to try to make more culturally diverse children's books available to kids from all backgrounds.
